Ceuta fulfils skills pledge - 15/12/2009
Bournemouth based Ceuta Healthcare, Europe’s leading outsourcing sales, marketing and logistics service provider to the health and beauty industry, has recently provided additional training to nine members of staff through Dorset Adult Learning.
Initially Dorset Adult Learning conducted a Skills Scan that established which of Ceuta’s staff required further training in both numeracy and literacy. This was carried out confidentially and the results
were sent to individuals giving recommendations on additional training opportunities.
Once staff had decided whether they wanted to join the course and their needs had been determined; Dorset Adult Learning tutors delivered lessons to teach staff up to a level two, G.C.S.E grade C and above in numeracy and literacy.
Ceuta provided Dorset Adult Learning with meeting rooms and allowed staff time away from their roles to further develop their skills, all exams were carried out on Ceuta’s premises. Staff attended a two hour session once a week for 10 weeks. A fast track literacy course was also offered which ran for five weeks. Dorset Adult Learning also provided an ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) course at level one and two.
Nathalie Camus, HR and Training Manager at Ceuta Healthcare said: “It was a real achievement for our staff who were very committed to completing the courses.
“Due to the fantastic take up of NVQs and as part of the skills pledge, staff are taking NVQs in Business Administration, Customer Service, Leadership and Management. We have also decided to run courses again for new and existing staff in the New Year.”
Linda Ryall, Assistant Curriculum Manager, from Dorset Adult Learning said: “It was a pleasure to see so many learners receiving their certificates. The feedback from the tutors was extremely positive with Ceuta’s staff gaining 100 per cent pass rates.”
